First IPDC conference in Rotterdam
An event with an international flavour
After three eventful days, from 25 to 27 March in Rotterdam, we conclude the first International Panel on Deltas, Coastal Areas, and Islands (IPDC) conference. With views from nhow Hotel across the iconic bridge on the River Maas, our project managers Roos Buys and Thomas Klink welcomed delegations from all over the world to the Port of Rotterdam. They came together to talk about the challenges of climate change for our deltas, coastlines and islands.
PINO was asked to develop a proposal for the logistical organisation and event communication for two events. The online pre-conference at Deltares Studio and the physical, three-day working conference. The venues were fixed – but otherwise we thought along with the overall programme.
Project manager Roos Buys: “All preparations with the client, speakers, technology and location came together during the execution. We ensured a substantive but also diverse programme. Besides supervising the sessions at the venue, there was also plenty of room to get to know each other better by undertaking various activities. From start to finish, we took care of the participants. The moment of arrival at Schiphol Airport, whether everyone was checked in to the room, is everyone in the right session, and of course whether everyone returned home with a nice feeling. With delegations present from all over the world, it gave the event an international flavour.”
Can we unburden you?
